The leaves are changing and the weather is getting cooler, which means it must be fall. In addition to the foliage, most of us are looking forward to the return of pumpkin spice.
There’s a lot more to autumn, though, so take that pumpkin spice latte on-the-go and get out to enjoy the season by engaging some of these fall activities.
1. Apple Picking
You know what’s better than picking apples? Eating them! This is a great way to get outdoors and do something different, while picking out a delicious and healthy snack to bring home.
2. Make Your Way Through a Corn Maze
Think you can find your way out of a corn maze? All you need is your thinking skills and a few friends and family to help you make your way out.
3. Toast Pumpkin Seeds
Don’t toss those seeds if you’re carving pumpkins! Save them and toast them up. Pumpkin seeds are a great source of protein, magnesium and zinc. You can even customize them yourself with different flavors, like cinnamon sugar.
4. Visit a Pumpkin Patch
This is a must. What is fall without pumpkins? Visit your local pumpkin patch and pick out some pumpkins to bring home. Don’t forget to save those seeds, like we mentioned before.
5. Take a Hike
This activity is a great way to get outdoors, get your body moving and enjoy the scenery, especially with the leaves changing colors.
6. Enjoy Fresh Seasonal Foods
This time of year features great fall flavors, like pumpkin, squash, apples and leafy greens. With all these delicious foods, you have so many options to make some hearty and tasty recipes.
7. Play a Pick-up Game of Football
This activity is very popular during this time of year. Get a group together and host your own football game. Not only are you getting to enjoy time spent with them but you are also getting in a great workout.
8. Take a Long Walk
Fall weather is perfect for going on walks. It’s not too hot and not too cold. Get out and enjoy it before winter weather comes in.
9. Run a Race
Races are available year-round, but you canl funny themes during the fall. This is the perfect time for you to finally try that Zombie 5K or the annual Thanksgiving Turkey Trot.
10. Have Fun in the Leaves
You don’t have to be a kid to have fun playing in the leaves. Rake them up and jump right in! It’s silly but can also be a good workout.
