It’s December and everyone knows what that means: the holidays are coming and so is a lot of snow. One of the hardest things to do when it’s frigid temperatures outside and there’s snow on the ground is finding the motivation to get up and go to the gym.
When the weather outside is frightful, staying home on the couch with Netflix and a jar of Nutella seems oh-so-delightful. But thanks to the power of the Internet and YouTube, there are tons of ways to stay in shape and still get a great workout in while staying indoors.
While you should always be careful when working out, it’s especially important to be careful in the comfort of your own home. Make sure you’ve stretched, warmed up and are able to exercise in an area of your home that will avoid injuries (and interruptions!).

Fitness and health blogger Cassey Ho created this awesome YouTube channel to teach pilates and other workouts to anyone, from beginners to experts. Her videos range from workouts that target all parts of your body: from abs, to glutes and thighs to some killer butt toning workouts. She also includes workout hacks and debunks some myths, as well as recipes for healthy meals and smoothies.
Fitness Blender is an awesome YouTube workout channel created by husband and wife team, Daniel and Kelli. Their videos include techniques for working out, from using dumbbells to doing pilates. They also have Q&A videos on their website and offer free workout programs.
From POPSUGAR’s headquarters and site comes POPSUGAR Fitness workouts. You can find tutorials, classes and even some recipes to help you stay in shape. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re interested in P90X or want to do the same workouts as the Victoria’s Secret Angels.
Amanda Russell, founder of FitStrongandSexy.com, started her own YouTube channel in hopes of helping people reach their fitness goals. You’ll get a lot of variety from her, including barre workouts, pilates and toning. Her videos are also targeted toward beginners, so this is great for someone just getting into fitness. It’s also great if you’re always on-the-go. She just gets us girls who want to squeeze in a 10-minute, fat-burning workout that still delivers.
From their TV show to YouTube, the Tone It Up girls give us everything we need to have a great at-home workout. Their videos include workouts, but branch they’re a 360-lifestyle brand. They offer advice, tips, tricks and even some beauty and fashion videos.
BeFit is an awesome YouTube workout routine channel that features some of the world’s most renowned trainers, like Jillian Michaels and Jane Fonda. They have something for everyone, including videos for your hubby to use. Besides workouts, they also have “health hacks,” which area tips and cheats to improve your workouts and fitness routines.
Women’s Health Magazine’s YouTube channel not only provides women with great workouts they can easily do at home but also with some great advice, hacks and information needed to help you stay healthy.
