Over the years, Gilmore Girls boasted some pretty impressive guest stars. From the real Paul Anka to Jon Hamm, there were some pretty obscure, yet wonderful famous faces that popped up on the show over the years.
Here are six of the best cameos in Stars Hollow.
1. Paul Anka
Missing Rory, Lorelai adopts a dog and names him after singer Paul Anka. In an episode aptly titled, “The Real Paul Anka,” Lorelai imagines the performer popping up in her daily life, which gives us several appearances from the man himself.
2. Sebastian Bach
The Skid Row singer didn’t appear as himself on the show, but rather had a recurring role as Gil, the guitarist in Lane’s band, Hep Alien. Bach was usually funny and relatable, and served as the dad of the group.
3. Adam Brody
The O.C. alum brought his nerdy charm to season three of Gilmore as Lane’s love interest, Dave. He not only gave Lane an interesting storyline but also led the sheltered character to her first gig as a drummer in a band, cementing her fate for the later years of the show.
4. Carole King
The songwriting titan appeared in several episodes as a crabby music store owner in Stars Hollow. Lane eventually befriends her when she lets Lane’s band use her store as a practice space. Oh, and she also sings the show’s theme song with her daughter.
5. Christiane Amanpour
The famous journalist is referenced several times in the show as being one of Rory’s heroes. Amanpour herself makes a cameo in the show when she stays at the Dragonfly, prompting Lorelai to force a nervous Rory to meet her.
6. Seth MacFarlane
This seems like a bit of an odd one, right? The Family Guy creator guest stars in the season two episode where Lorelai graduates from college. He plays one of her classmates that is annoyed when Richard and Emily show up and make a scene during the graduation ceremony.
