We don’t have to tell you that, as a woman, your body is sliced, diced a resold to you as the ideal look. While you’re looking at that, someone’s telling you how you to be “ladylike,” lest a man think you’re a bitch.
Makeup artist Jordan Hanz, known for her whimsical tutorials, tackled the labels we’re forced to wear when we don’t meet society’s standards for being a woman. She was reportedly inspired by Amber Rose and Blac Chyna wearing outfits displaying slut-shaming words they’ve been called. Odds are, every woman is wearing some type of label because being everything that’s expected of you is impossible.
“If we love the act of making love, we’re viewed as a slut. But if a man does it, it’s completely normal,” Jordan says in the video. “Or if you’re not ready to have sex yet, you’re viewed as a prude.”
As she talks about these labels put on women, Jordan reveals corresponding words and photos to show how we carry these things around with us all the time.
