Besides January being the month of fresh starts, it’s also the month when being stuck indoors really begins to take its toll on me. It doesn’t take very long for me to become restless of my surroundings and feel trapped. A great way to combat this feeling, since we might be stuck inside for a few more months, is to redecorate! Many of us are still feeling the pain in our wallets from the holidays though so it may feel impossible to afford to redecorate but there are plenty of cost efficient alternatives.
A great way to get the best bang for your buck is to shop at discounted stores. These stores have a lot of on-trend items for a very reasonable price. The items also are swapped a lot so you can really get something unique!
Sometimes the biggest impact can be made with a can of spray paint. Repurposing items like dressers, desks or night stands are not as hard as you may think but completely change the space.
Swap with Friends
Just because you’re sick of an item doesn’t mean your friends might not have the perfect space for it. This option allows you to get new pieces without having to spend any money and is a great way to spend a girl’s day.
Get a Statement Piece
Simply choosing one statement piece to a room can completely change the theme of a room. It will draw everyone’s eyes in and make your room feel new.
Sell Old Items
Getting rid of your old items not only spares up space for new items that you purchase but can also provide you with the money to get but these new items. Many areas have Facebook pages that allow you to sell your unwanted items locally.
