The Mindy Project fans were hit with some horrible news Wednesday night—the show won’t be returning to Fox for a fourth season. Fortunately, we may not have seen the last of the beloved sitcom.
While the ratings have been low, there’s a lot of loyalty from its weekly watchers and critics love it. We spent many nights live tweeting it with Feather Girls, so we count ourselves among the show’s fans. We joined everyone on Twitter, expressing our sadness over the show’s cancellation.

All of our worry may be in vain, though. Several media outlets are reporting that Hulu has expressed “serious interest” in the show, starting talks on a multi-season deal. It could be a few weeks before we know anything because, although its all but confirmed, Fox has not announced they’re pulling the plug on Mindy. They cannot begin negotiations until the TV network officially cancels the show.
Hulu’s been making big moves lately to compete with Netflix and this could be a good venue for their foray into original programming. Remember how much success Netflix had when they resurrected Arrested Development?
Mindy Kaling’s casual attitude on Instagram after the news broke makes us think this isn’t the end yet.
Let’s just keep our heads up and soldier on until we get some good news!
