The newest Princess of Pop (don’t argue with us, it’s done), Taylor Swift, released her newest single from the 1989 soundtrack, entitled “Out of the Woods.” This is the one about Harry Styles. At least that’s what a lot of people are reporting since the last verse may be referencing a snowmobile accident they were reportedly in together during their relationship.
One thing it definitely is would be a further sonic departure from anything Taylor’s done. Written with fun.’s Jack Antonoff, the chaotic beat is a little more rock than pop. The singer previously stated that she wanted everything on the album to sound like she felt when writing it and this definitely sounds like a relationship that you want to work, but is showing signs of failing.
Taylor was apparently pretty nervous about the reception last night if her Instagram featuring texts with Antonoff is any indicator.
But we’re sure you’ll love this new tune as much as all the rest. Listen to it below and tell us what you think.
Update: Harry Styles maybe wrote a song about Taylor Swift, too. He penned a song with singing duo Alex & Sierra entitled “I Love You.” Like Swift’s, it also talks about a lost love, specifically someone who doesn’t seem to see how much you love them.
According to Seventeen, the exes are both aware the other’s songs are about them and seem to be alright with the whole thing. These love songs really make us hope for a #Haylor reunion.
Listen to this track and tell us: which do you like best? Should Harry and Taylor give it another go?
