We’ve all been there before, sweating away on the treadmill in an attempt to reach our latest goal and someone who’s in way better shape gets on the machine next to you (going at a faster speed, a higher incline) and shatters your confidence. Suddenly, you’re aware of the way your body jiggles and that your hair is sticking to your sweaty brow.
Not only is this not healthy for your self-esteem but it’s also unrealistic. Working out is, well, “work.” If you’re not pushing yourself a bit and there’s no sweat involved, you’re probably not going to get the results you want. There’s nothing wrong with a little thigh jiggle, a sweat-drenched shirt and heavy breathing. This Girl Can, an organization working to “prove that judgement is a barrier that can be overcome,” agrees.
The latest video for their campaign shows women working out and enjoying themselves, without a care for how they may be perceived by judgmental people. You don’t have to look like someone who’s been working out a decade longer or like those seemingly perfect trainers in fitness videos. There’s really nothing like the satisfaction of a great workout, so don’t let anything get the in the way of you earning that feeling.
Watch this video for inspiration to let it wiggle and jiggle, while you work toward your fitness goals.
