I’ve been dreading turning 30 since I was about 22 years old. It just seemed like your first step into old age. How long until you’re using a walker and telling rambunctious whippersnappers to get off your lawn.
Four years later, I’m not dreading it as much. That’s partially due to the fact that I have friends in their thirties who are definitely not in walkers. If anything, they’re wearing designer heels and kicking butt in their day jobs. Neither of those seem like negatives to me.
For those of you who don’t have the perspective of an older friend yet, you’ve got Anna Kendrick, who turns 30 years old in August. While promoting Pitch Perfect 2, she stopped by Ellen.
What’s the worst part about her big birthday coming up in August? Trying to live a healthier lifestyle.
“It’s awful,” she said. “It’s the worst, and the worst part is I feel so much better. That’s the worst part. Is that, like, it works.”
Wait, that’s the worst part?
“I was really hoping I would just do it as an experiment,” she told Ellen. “And I would feel exactly the same, and I could go back to eating Taco Bell whenever I wanted.”
As non-millionaires, we’ll have some financial-related worries and maybe even familial one, but maybe the transition from your twenties to your thirties is a lot scarier than those of us in our early and mid-twenties make it out to be.
Kudos to Anna for turning over a healthier leaf in life!
